Big Bang AI - The Beginning of an Endless Journey

In this article, we discuss a topic that arouses a great deal of curiosity, but also skepticism. We address the use and potential of Artificial Intelligence.

The focus, as always, is on the world of art and artists.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

First and foremost, artificial intelligence (AI) is a machine's ability to display human-like capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning, and creativity.

AI allows systems to understand their environment, relate to what they perceive, solve problems, and act toward a specific goal. The computer receives data (prepared or collected via sensors, such as a video camera), processes it, and responds.

AI systems are capable of adapting their behavior by analyzing the effects of previous actions and working autonomously1.

Some studies, such as the one from Kearney-Carnegie Mellon University2, define the historical moment we are living in as a transition from the information age to the “intelligence with wisdom” era, in which we will witness profound transformations on various levels, starting from the industrial, scientific and work world levels, but also from the point of view of the evolution of the human species which will rapidly arrive at a new sophisticated collective intelligence3.

Fascinating, right?

Understanding human consciousness is one of the most mysterious topics humanity has ever faced, perhaps alongside existence itself. When combined with self-knowledge, it initiates a process that can lead an individual to significant evolution.

Artificial intelligence is a rapidly and continuously evolving tool that can support human evolution and self-knowledge.

It's like a mirror that potentially allows us to communicate with our deepest selves.

There are countless prompts for testing this "power" of artificial intelligence. If you're curious, let me know and I'll explore the topic in another article.

While many professions will disappear with the advent and unstoppable development of artificial intelligence, many others will emerge, as several studies state4. Those related to artistic creativity will be among the fortunate ones to survive this new era and are unlikely to be replaced.

What scientists, philosophers, and scholars around the world have been saying for years now is that AI is taking over our lives, transforming them and leading us toward a world that is still hard to imagine.

A Big Bang of change and opportunity.

How can I, as an artist, use artificial intelligence?

There are many ways—creative, organizational, administrative, and inspirational—in which AI can be used as a companion tool, never a replacement.

It's all about asking the right questions.

Ally of creativity

• Create images, graphics, videos, animations

• Creating ideas: from sketches to actual creations (3D sculptures, generative music, etc.)

• Have a Visual Assistant to design settings, scenes, places, atmospheres

Ally for writing and communication

• Drafting programs, biographies, notes, and insights

• Write press releases, professional emails, resumes or texts for websites, institutional communications

• Create editorial plans for social media and websites

• Find inspiration for posts, captions, and hashtags

Organizational ally

• Organize your agenda, travel and trips

• Support business plan development, revenue and expense management, strategic investment planning, and product or project launches.

• Automate administrative and bureaucratic processes.

• Perform SWOT analyses.

An ally for introspection and personal growth

• Practice concentration, breathing, and centering exercises

• Explore your talents and obstacles

• Analyze behavioral patterns

Naturally, fear and skepticism also accompany the inexorable and unstoppable advent of this extraordinary new technology.

The fear that human creativity might be extinguished, curiosity would fade, and the brain would atrophy, sinking into a devolutionary abyss where this intelligence would begin to think, reason, and act for us, to the point of making us totally dependent on it.

It's an apocalyptic scenario.

But all innovations throughout history have brought with them risks and fears.

Cars built bridges, shortening physical distances.

Radio and the telephone built bridges, shortening the distances between people.

The Internet built bridges, shortening the distances between cultures.

And today, Artificial Intelligence builds bridges...perhaps between synapses, perhaps between souls.

If chosen and used consciously, it can become a tool for expanding artistic creativity and personal planning, a valuable ally that helps us understand ourselves better, express ourselves in new ways, and unite reason and intuition with coherence and awareness.

AI doesn't replace the artist: it accompanies them on a journey of infinite exploration.
